U.S. Silver Corp (TSX - "USA", OTC Markets -"USSID" and DB Frankfurt - "QE2") owns and operates the Galena Mine in the historic Silver Valley of North Idaho. The Galena Mine and Mill, along with the Coeur Mine and Mill and the Caladay Project, were acquired from Coeur d'Alene Mines Corp (NYSE-CDE) on June 1, 2006.
The Company produces approximately 2.4 million ounces of silver annually. With a workforce of about 260 employees, the Company is producing approximately 800-900 tons of ore per day. Excess hoisting and milling capacity exists allowing U.S. Silver to easily increase future production as reserves are discovered and developed. Recent strong cash flow and cash on hand are funding expansion programs through increased development work and the planned reopening of the Coeur mine.
The underground drilling program has successfully increased proven and probable reserves as of December 31, 2010 to 21.9 million contained ounces of silver, a 115%increase in reserves since 2006. U.S. Silver holds 14,000 acres of under-explored land with considerable exploration upside and has embarked on a significantly increased exploration program in 2011 and 2012.
